Heritage Open Day 2019
Bawdsey Radar is taking part in the 2019 Heritage Open Days Festival on Sunday 22nd September. This is the 25th year of the event, which gives free admission to visitors.
The story of how operational radar was developed at Bawdsey is fascinating. The exhibition, funded by the National Heritage Lottery Fund, is full of films, interactives and first-hand accounts from the women and men who worked in top secret to bring about technology that helped win the Battle of Britain.
Alongside the exhibition, there is a Boffin Trail and dressing up for younger visitors, picnic tables if you’d like to bring your lunch, parking (including an overflow car if required), tea and coffee machine and loos. Visit our What’s On page for further details.
