VOLUNTEERS’ WEEK 1st-7th June 2023 Day 4

Day 4 of Volunteers’ Week already! Time to hear from Tom:

‘I’ve been a volunteer and trustee at Bawdsey Radar since I finished my internship with the museum in October 2021. I have gained so much from volunteering at the museum and have learned lots, both about radar and heritage more widely.

Each day in the Transmitter Block is different! From greeting guests in the museum to working on projects behind the scenes, volunteering at Bawdsey Radar has given me many new experiences and helped me to develop my skills. The Bawdsey Radar team is excellent, and I have made many new friends throughout my time in the museum. My time with Bawdsey Radar has allowed me to work with a wonderful volunteer team in a fantastic, internationally significant building. It is a privilege to contribute to preserving the Transmitter Block and the story of the men and women who lived and worked at RAF Bawdsey’.
