Radar – comes in all shapes and sizes!

During a visit to the Scott Polar Research Institute museum in February we found an ice-penetrating radar and copper bowtie antenna.
Up to 16 antennae can be plugged in and together they build up a 3D image of how thick the ice is, how fast it might be melting and how the ice moves.
