Bawdsey Radar win the ACE Shop of The Year Award
Bawdsey Radar Trust has won the prestigious 2019 Shop of The Year award at the Association of Cultural Enterprises event held on 28th February in Brighton.
With strong competition from other finalists including the Imperial War Museums, and Kettle’s Yard in Cambridge, the judges commented on the most impressive transformation that the shop at Bawdsey Radar has undergone.
Liz Brooking, the Bawdsey Retail Manager said “We have a really enthusiastic team in the shop and this award is a fantastic recognition for all of them and for Bawdsey Radar. We are now getting our new stock ready for opening again on Sunday April 7th.”
Comment from the ACE judges – “We were absolutely bowled over by this museum and shop. The transformation from pre-refurbishment to now is amazing. Everyone plays their part to make it a success and you feel their teamwork, passion and commitment as soon as you arrive. With an almost non-existent budget, the team have been inspiringly creative and it’s these small touches that make it a huge success.”
