12 days of Radar – Day Five

Iain McNab was an Adjutant at RAF Bawdsey during WW2. He made this linocut whilst he was at Bawdsey (attached) and we think it was used as Christmas card in 1943. Iain became a well-known teacher, influential engraver and President of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters. The copyright remains with the artist’s Estate. If you can help us trace the Estate we’d love to hear from you.

Iain was fondly remembered by others who served at RAF Bawdsey, such as Stanley Brown who’s story can be found here: https://www.bawdseyradar.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/stanley-brown-factsheet.pdf
